We discover the watch Daniel Craig wears in Spectre, which timepiece is a little mechanical astronaut and what the most expensive item in the store is.
Ever wondered what the most expensive item is in the jewellery shops you walk past? Goldsmiths have got a Breitling replica watch that costs the average amount you need for a deposit on a very small flat.
£170. That’s how much, and that’s not even the most expensive one in Canary Wharf.
Goldsmith’s Canada Place Mall store manager Stephen Summers said: “Working in this trade you get to see and handle lots of lovely pieces of jewellery and replica watches that one would not normally see, let alone handle.
“To me it’s not about the value of the sale, it’s about making sure that the client goes away with a treasured item that has been associated with a significant occasion in their life.”
Stephen has worked in the jewellery trade for 27 years after moving straight into it when he left school.
He said: “When I finished I was not sure what I wanted to do and saw a role working for Zales jewellers and thought that looked interesting. I have not looked back since.”
The Canary Wharf store had a revamp in September, showcasing new dedicated branded areas for replica Omega, Breitling and TAG Heuer watches.
We got three facts about Omega.
1. Omega was in fact the first mechanical watch to land on the moon – with the Replica Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch in 1969. A year later the same watch played a significant part in helping the astronauts on the Apollo 13 mission return to Earth safely after the shuttle encountered some unforeseen problems.
2. Omega has had a strong affiliation with the James Bond franchise since 1995. The latest piece was sported by Daniel Craig in Spectre. It’s the Seamaster 300 Master Co Axial.
3. The brand is also well known in the world of sport, as they have been timing the Olympics since 1932.
